How to Clove Garlic
Garlic, closely related to onions, is known for both its culinary and medicinal uses. It was used by Greeks and Romans for its medicinal properties and is still used to treat colds, flu, high blood pressure and heart disease. Garlic comes in a head or bulb. Approximately 10 to 12 cloves of garlic make up a single head. Eating one clove a day can improve your health in a variety of ways. Does this Spark an idea?

Hold the garlic bulb in your hand and whack it on a hard surface to separate the cloves.

Select an individual clove from the now-separated bulb.

Peel garlic by carefully removing the outside shell. This can be facilitated by crushing the close gently under the blade of a knife. This will loosen the peel from the flesh of the clove. Garlic can be enjoyed fresh (crushed or chopped) as well as to season cooked dishes.

Tips & Warnings
To remove the smell of garlic from your hands rub your hands against a stainless steel bowl or utensil.
