Use the Cuda 242 on your boat to maximize your haul.

The Eagle Cuda 242 is a discontinued fishfinder made by Eagle. This fishfinder features a display screen and transducer that emits sonar waves under a boat and translates these waves into information on the water and its contents. The fishfinder's installation requires placing the transducer -- the sonar wave emitter -- on the bottom of the boat, away from the prop, and installing the display screen where the cables connect to the boat's battery.

Instructions

    • 1

Coat the back of the transducer with marine epoxy. Place the transducer under the boat, on the hull, at least half of the boat's length from the engine and propeller. Placing the transducer too close to the engine and prop affects the sonar due to cavitation -- the water bubbles created from the prop.

    • 2

Drill holes on the boat's steering deck where the display screen will be placed. Align the mounting bracket to the drilled holes and screw it into position. Position it near the boat's steering wheel and other marine electronics.

    • 3

Plug the fishfinder cable connector into the back of the display unit and run the black and red wires to the boat's battery. Attach the black cable to the black terminal first. This grounds the unit and prevents surges or shorts. Attach the red wire to the red battery terminal.

    • 4

Zip tie the cables/wires to the side of the boat to prevent tripping or ripping the wires out from the display unit.
