How to Use a Cell Phone in a Car Ticket Appeal Letter
You will receive a car ticket when you violate the rules and laws of the road. If you feel that your ticket is not justified, you can appeal your case to the authorities with a letter. You can use your cell phone in the appeal letter in two ways: as your form of contact and as evidence, if you happen to take pictures with your camera phone.
Instructions

1
Insert a header into your appeal letter. This includes your full name, street address and cell phone number. Leave four spaces after your header.
-
2
Enter the appropriate greeting. Use "Dear Sir," or "Dear Madam," to begin your letter. If you know the person's last name, use "Dear Mr. Sawyer," or "Dear Mrs. Lewis," for example.
-
-
3
Record the information about your car ticket. You should include the date it occurred, the car ticket number and your vehicle registration number. This helps the authorities refer back to your appeal.
-
4
State in your letter why you are not at fault for the violation. Support your information with documentation such as photographs (especially if taken from your cell phone), witness statements, auto repair receipts or a hospital bill. Original documents will help to make your appeal successful.
-
5
Write in a neutral tone of voice. Do not argue or make threats. Instead, state that you hope the authorities will cancel the appeal. Invite the authorities to contact you at your address and cell phone number.
-
6
Close the letter with "Sincerely," and include your full name and signature below.
