OmniForm Tutorial
ScanSoft's OmniForm is a complete form management application, which allows users to create original digital forms with editable fields, to digitally fill out forms and even to turn paper forms into digital files. Though OmniForm offers many advanced features for form management, only the basic features are necessary to get you started working in OminForm. OmniForm provides its own built-in wizard, called Form Assistant, that helps new users get started with simple creation and processing of forms.

Launch OmniForm on your computer. To open the OmniForm application, which is compatible only with Windows systems, go to "Start," "All Programs," click on the "ScanSoft" folder and then click "OmniForm." Form Assistant launches automatically in a window if it is the first time that you have opened OmniForm. If Form Assistant doesn't launch, click the "Form Assistant" button in the toolbar.

Choose the OmniForm task that you want to perform. If you need to scan paper forms into OmniForm to create digital files of the forms, click the "Scan a Form or Image File" option. Click "Create a New, Blank Form" or "Work on a Form's Design" to begin designing or editing an original form, click "Fill in a Form" to enter information into a completed form, or "Print a Form" to print a copy of any form created or filled out in OmniForm.

Follow the screens in the Form Assistant wizard to scan, create, edit, fill out or print the form. Instructions for the task that you select appear on the screens right in the wizard, and guide you through the entire process. If you choose "Scan a Form or Image File," for instance, the "Scan Form..." dialog box opens and asks you to choose a design for the form and then tells you when to place the document on the scanner to scan in a form's image and automatically brings up the "Save" dialog box to help you save the form to your computer.

Tips & Warnings
If you create a form in OmniForm that you would like for other people to digitally fill out, keep in mind that the OmniForm format, OFM can only be opened in the OmniForm application.
