New York is known as "The City that Never Sleeps." Whether you live in or outside the city, your first step to finding a part-time job is to identify those business who stay up with the New York crowd around the clock. These businesses are more likely to hire part-time workers. Restaurants, local hospitals and retail stores offer part-time jobs with benefits (See reference 1). Start your search by determining what hours you can work part-time. The great thing about New York -- part-time jobs are available around the clock.

Instructions

1. Sign up with local casting companies. New York is a major hub for the film industry (See reference 2). You can find part-time work by being an extra in a movie or video. There is no size, age, weight or ethnicity limitations. The only requirement is that you are available during the times they need you for the movie. Sign-up with several New York casting agents to improve your chances of being called as an extra.

2. Place job applications with local stores in New York. Go to the stores in your area and fill out applications for part-time employment. Retail stores start hiring in October for the November and December holidays. The sooner you put in your application, the better your chances of securing part-time employment.
