Pink foam, a type of polystyrene, is a foam that is typically purchased in 4-foot by 8-foot sheets for home improvement purposes. Pink foam also has exceptional characteristics when it comes to crafts and model making. Gluing pink foam to other items can be quite challenging, which is why selecting the right glue is extremely important to create a lasting bond.

  • 80-grit sandpaper
  • Polyurethane construction adhesive
  • 2-inch sponge brush

Instructions

    • 1

      Roughen the surface of the foam and the item it will be joined to using 80 grit sandpaper. Sand in multiple directions on the surface to establish a true glue grid.

      Apply polyurethane construction adhesive to the surface of the foam as well as the roughened surface of the joining item. Use the 2-inch sponge brush to apply a consistent layer of adhesive to both items.

      Press the foam and joining item firmly together. Hold the items together for one to two minutes for a stronger bond.

      Set foam aside for 10 to 20 minutes to allow glue to set completely.
