A company newsletter is a useful vehicle for introducing new members to the organization. Writing an introduction for a new member is not a difficult task. The key is to be cordial, friendly and above all emphasize the organization’s delight at having the new member(s). The intro does not need to be overly long or detailed. A brief background and welcome will do the trick just fine.

Write a brief introduction stating that the organization is happy to have the individual being welcomed. It could read, “Our organization is proud to welcome John Doe as its newest member.”

Write a brief background on the individual. “John Doe has a master’s degree in finance from Harvard University and is vice president of ABC Company.”

Write a blurb as to why the individual is a welcome addition. “John’s work and reputation in the community brings a great deal of prestige to our organization.”

Finish by reaffirming the organization’s happiness at the individual’s membership. “We are happy to have John as a part of our organization and we look forward to working with him in the coming months.”
