How to Make Employee Badges Online

How to Make Employee Badges Online thumbnail
Create badges to identify the employees of your company while keeping your office secure.

Employee badges are used not only to identify employees by name, but also as a security measure for your company. If all members of your company are required to wear an employee badge, you can identify visitors or potential trespassers by their lack of identification. You can design and order employee badges online with websites such as Photo-Badge.com, Easy ID Card and Full Identity.com. These badges are then printed and shipped to your location for company use.

Things You'll Need

  • Employee photographs, JPEG files
  • Digital company logo, JPEG file
  • Credit card

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Create ID Badges Online" from the main page of a website such as Photo-Badge.com, Easy ID Card and Full Identity.com. Your badge is designed though an online template.

    • 2

Click a starting design from the template page. Designs can be divided into categories. Select a vertical or horizontal card layout.

    • 3

Scroll through the card options and choose any desired additional features for your card. These features can include bar codes, magnetic stripes, lamination and lanyard holes.

    • 4

Click on the default photo image on the template. Select "Browse" and choose the digital photo of the employee whose badge you're creating. Click "Upload." Use the tools within the site to re-size and adjust the photograph.

    • 5

Click the default logo on the template. Browse and upload your company's logo into the template. Adjust the image with the site tools.

    • 6

Add text to the front of the card. Include the name of your employee, his job title, the department he works in, his starting date and any other information you choose.

    • 7

Change the font, size and color of the text on the employee badge using the tools in the template.

    • 8

Add text to the back of the card, if desired, citing information such as where someone can send the card if it is found.

    • 9

Save your design. Enter a user name and password to register for the site. This allows you to edit saved designs when you have new employees who need a badge.

    • 10

Place your order. You will need to enter credit card and billing information to receive your employee badge shipment.

Tips & Warnings

  • Each website has a slightly different layout but all steps are required in the creation of an employee badge.

  • Re-size your employee photos and company logo in a drawing program on your computer to prevent having to adjust the image when it is uploaded.

  • Extra features for your badges, such as text on the back or bar codes, will increase the cost of your order.
