How to Use an Edup Wireless 802.11 HI Gain USB Adapter
Those with computers without built-in wireless cards may use wireless adapters to connect to a wireless Internet network. A wireless adapter typically connects through the computer's USB or PCI adapter. Once installed, the adapter is able to tune in wireless networks that broadcast within range. If you purchased an Edup 802.11 High Gain USB Wireless Adapter, you can have it up and running in no time.

Install the USB adapter per the manufacturer's instructions. Typically, this is a two-step process. First, connect the adapter itself to the computer's USB port. Then, install the software drivers that are needed for the adapter to work. Once installed, the card is ready to access wireless Internet networks.

Navigate to the computer's network connections manager by opening the "Start" menu and choosing "Network Connections" from the "Control Panel" window. For newer versions of Windows, you will need to click "Network and Sharing Center" followed by either "Manage Network Connections" or "Change Adapter Settings" to see the network connections manager. Once there, you will see a list of all the wireless networks in range of the Edup adapter.

Connect to the wireless network of your choice by right-clicking on the icon that represents that network and choosing "Connect." The Edup card will now attempt to obtain IP address information from the wireless card. A pop-up window will inform you whether the computer was able to successfully connect to the network. If the window indicates the connection was successful, you are now able to use wireless Internet. If not, you may need to troubleshoot the wireless network to which you are connecting or reinstall the Edup wireless USB software drivers.
