My Fujitsu Scanner is Very Slow

How your Fujitsu scanner is connected to your computer directly affects its speed. For example, if you try to connect your scanner to your computer using a lower-power cable such as a USB 1.1 connection, it may operate at a leisurely scanning pace. If you use a Hub, its placement, if incorrectly distanced from your computer, will make your Fujitsu scanner operate very slowly. Using the right cables also helps determine if your scanner dawdles along or scans at lightning speed to reach it fullest potential.

Things You'll Need

• Fujitsu Scanner
• USB 2.0 compliant cable (for USB Interface connection)

Instructions

1. Turn off the scanner, then turn off the PC.

2. Reconnect the scanner to a USB 2.0 compliant USB port on the PC using the original USB cable that came with the scanner. (Note: If you are using a USB Hub, connect the USB cable to the first stage port that is closest to the computer.)

3. Turn on the PC, then turn on the scanner and rescan. If the scanner still appears to scan slowly, contact Fujitsu support.

Tips & Warnings

• If you use a flatbed scanner, consider upgrading to a model with a document feeder, since these are usually much faster in scanning multi-pages.

• Use the AC power cable provided by the manufacturer, as other brands may cause the scanner to operate less effectively.
