How to Make a Single Crochet Stitch

The basic single stitch is one of the first crochet stitches you'll want to master.

• Ring Markers
• Crochet Hooks
• Crochet Thread
• Row Counter
• Yarns
• Scissors
• Scissors
• Rulers

1. Skip the first chain in the previous row.

2. 

   Insert the hook into both loops of the next top stitch in the previous row or the back loop of the foundation chain.

3. 

   Wrap the yarn over the hook from back to front.

4. Draw the yarn through the stitch.

5. Loop the yarn over the hook again.

6. 

   Draw the yarn through two loops on the hook. One loop remains on the hook.
