1
Choose the right type of special gutter that suits your specific needs. If the area has substantial rain over the year, consider a deeper gutter. Debris guards are also a good choice if trees overhang your roof line, to prevent a clogging within the gutter.

2
Locate a drain, hang the plumb line, and then install the outlet in line with that drain. This location of the downspout is of vital importance when hanging your special gutters. If a drain is not present, aim the downspout toward an existing gully to prevent algae growth or ice development.

3
Install the outlet gutter. This should never be more than 1 inch from the bottom of your roof. Install a fascia bracket 6 inches from both ends of the original gutter run.
-
4
Extend a string to create the line from insertion of the outlet to the end of the run of the special gutter. This insertion line will provide a mobile joint for expansion. Install fascia brackets every 3 feet once the line is extended. Install brackets at every joint as well.
-
5
Tilt the special gutter under the back of the main fitting, push down onto the front of the bracket, then install the end caps at each end of the special gutter run.
-
6
Install the downspout and add additional funneling accessories if the house has an obtuse overhang or the downspout discharges over an open-topped gully. Apply support brackets every 6 feet throughout the run of the downspout.

Tips & Warnings
Your gutters should be cleaned out at least one a year, maybe twice if you live in a very tree-lined area. You can do this yourself or hire a professional.
