How to Wash Hunter Douglas Blinds
Hunter Douglas makes and sells a wide variety of window treatments that are manufactured with stain-resistant surfaces that repel even dust and dirt. So use simple cleaning products to clean Hunter Douglas blinds. Clean them as soon as you notice dust and dirt buildup to prevent dirt from settling into the blind and staining it. Do not use abrasive cleaners as these will damage the blinds. Only attempt to wash your Hunter Douglas blinds in the bathtub if they are from the EverWood or Modern Precious Metals collections. Deep Cleaning

Fill your bathtub with a few inches of lukewarm water and add several drops of liquid dish soap.

Immerse the blinds in the water but keep the headrail above the water.

Massage the blinds with the soapy water to rinse away the dirt that has accumulated on the blind strings or slats. Let the blinds sit in the solution for at least five minutes.

Unplug the bathtub and let the water drain.

Rinse the blinds with clear water from your shower. Be careful not to wet the headrail.

Lift the blinds and shake off as much water as possible.

Let the blinds air dry before reinstalling them.
Spot Cleaning

Lower the blinds.

Add a few drops of mild liquid dish soap to 1 cup lukewarm water. Mix thoroughly.

Dip a sponge into the mixture and wring out as much of it as possible.

Wipe down both sides of each blind slat with the sponge. Rinse out the sponge and reapply the cleaning solution as needed.

Wipe down both sides of each blind slat with a cloth soaked in clear water. This will remove any soap residue. Let the blinds dry thoroughly before pulling them up.
