Hair color in a box has replaced the necessary trip to your hairdresser. A multitude of colors and shades exist to alter your look. With simple step-by-step instructions, you can achieve a salon look in your own home. Clairol Natural Instincts offers an ammonia-free formula with antioxidants that works in 10 minutes. Pick a shade, do an allergy test by applying a quarter size amount of the mixed color chemicals in the bend of your elbow and wait 48 hours. If you don't have an allergic reaction, start coloring.
Wet hair and towel dry. You do not want to shampoo hair as clean hair does not hold chemicals efficiently.
Put on plastic gloves.
Pull the tab to remove the tip of the cap of the Gentle Activating Creme-2.
Open the Color-Enhancing Colorant-1.
Pour the contents of Color-Enhancing Colorant-1 into the bottle of Gentle Activation Creme-2.
Put your finger over the opened tip and shake vigorously until the mixture thickens and the color is blended. Do not point bottle at your face when shaking.
Apply color first to your damp roots. Separate your hair into sections using the applicator nozzle. Run the applicator nozzle down the length of each hair section.
Set your timer and wait 10 minutes.
Rinse your hair until water runs clear.
Apply a small amount of Once A Week Color Treat Color Conditioning Treatment-3 to your hair. Leave it in your hair for two minutes, then rinse hair thoroughly.
Throw all unused color, bottles and plastic gloves away.
Tip
Wait 24 hours before washing your hair with shampoo. If you have an abundance of grey hair apply the color to all the grey first.
Warning
Leave color in for only 8 minutes if your hair is permed or relaxed. If color gets on your furniture or skin wipe it off immediately with a damp towel.
