Your Internet address history consists of the temporary Internet files stored each time you visit a website. The history stores small pieces of information regarding URL sites, log ins, Web pages visited, images and videos that you viewed. To protect your privacy while browsing the Internet, it is important to clear your history regularly to delete all of these stored temporary Internet files.

      Open your Web browser.

      Click the "Tools" tab at the toolbar toward the top of the browser page.

      Click "Options," then "Internet Options" or "Security Settings" depending on the browser you use to search the Web.

      Wait a second for the gray pop-up box to display, and select "Clear Cache," "Delete Cookies" or "Delete Temporary Internet Files," depending on the Web browser you are using.

      Click "OK" or "Confirm" to submit the delete command, and the process will take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the amount of information that needs to be deleted.
