How to Add POI's

With the right software, you can download new locations on your GPS device.

A POI is a file containing coordinates and data for a specific location known as a Point of Interest. Most global positioning system (GPS) devices can use POI files to indicate surrounding landmarks and your proximity to them. GPS devices, like Garmin and Magellan systems, use a software called POI Loader to input locations on your navigation device from a Mac or PC. The process for adding POIs to your GPS unit may vary according to the make and model of your device, but newer models use the same basic process.
