A keyless entry remote usually has a panic alarm button for added safety in parking lots.

A keyless entry remote allows the user to unlock a vehicle's doors with the push of a button on a key fob. When programed to your 2000 Blazer, a remote makes it more convenient to enter your car on rainy days or when you are carrying multiple items in your arms. Installing a keyless entry remote is an easy task that can be completed from the driver's seat of the vehicle. The process does not require any tools and is completed in just a few minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Close all the Blazer's doors and insert the key into the ignition. Hold down the door locks on the driver's side until later instructed to release the lock.

    • 2

Turn the key in the ignition as far as it can go without turning on the engine, then turn the ignition off. Repeat this once more.

    • 3

Release the door lock and the vehicle responds by automatically locking and unlocking the doors. Hold down the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the remote you are programing until the doors lock and unlock on their own. This can take as long as 30 seconds. Repeat this for every additional remote you want to program.

    • 4

Turn the ignition to the "On" position to exit the programing mode.
