Create your own rubber stamp with a few items.

Rubber stamps are used to make crafts, including cards, scrapbooks and other items. Buy unmounted stamps and create stamps of your own using a few items. Making your own stamps will allow you to choose the type of block on which you want them mounted, pick what kind of attaching glue to use and customize each rubber stamp.

Things You'll Need

  • Sharp, fine-tipped scissors
  • Thin foam or cushion
  • Wooden or acrylic blocks
  • Craft cement

Instructions

    • 1

Cut right around the image of the rubber stamp. Don't cut into the image, and cut with straight lines.

    • 2

Take a permanent adhesive sheet or contact cement and spread it onto the back of the rubber stamp, then attach it to a piece of thin foam or cushion. Let the cement dry, then cut the foam along the same form as the rubber die.

    • 3

Put cement on the foam and attach it to the wooden or acrylic block. Press it and let it sit until the cement has set.

Tips & Warnings

  • For nonpermanent stamps, attach the rubber stamp to the block with double-sided tape.

  • Don't cut into the image of the stamp. Be very careful, but cut as close as you can to the image.
