Making Soap
-
1
Cut the block of soap into small cubes and put them in the stock pot over medium low heat.
-
2
Allow them to melt until completely smooth. Stir occasionally to break up chunks and speed the melting process. Don't let it boil as that will create a foul smell and cause finished soap to crack.

-
3
Line the shoe box with plastic wrap so that the soap can be lifted out of the mold easily.
-
4
Add 1/4 ounce of lavender essential oil for each pound of soap and stir when soap is melted completely. Then pour soap into the shoe box mold and allow it to cool. This can take a few hours.

5
Lift the soap out of the box and remove the plastic wrap. Cut into preferred size pieces using a sharp knife.
