How to Download My Pics Onto My Garmin GPS

Garmin has a vast line of GPS units offering a variety of features, including Bluetooth, security lock and turn-by-turn guidance. Many units also include an application called "Picture Viewer," which allows you to open and view your pictures on the Garmin screen. However, the device doesn't include digital camera capabilities. In order to load your photos on the Garmin, you must connect it to your computer and manually load the files.

Things You'll Need

• Garmin computer USB cable

Instructions

1. Use the Garmin's USB cable to link the device to your computer.

2. Open the contents of your Garmin's drive by opening the "My Computer" folder and selecting the Garmin from the drive list.

3. Open the "JPEG" folder within your Garmin's main folder.

4. In a separate window, open the "My Pictures" folder, or whichever folder holds your computer's photos.

5. Drag and drop the desired photo files to your Garmin's "JPEG" folder.
