How to Open a Master Padlock

Master Lock is a subsidiary of Fortune Brands and one of the largest manufacturers of padlocks in the world. Master Lock brand padlocks come in a variety of shapes and sizes and feature a combination mechanism that can be used to open the padlock. The process for opening the padlock is uniform across the Master Lock padlock product line.

Instructions

1. Turn the combination dial to the right several times to reset the lock.

2. Continue turning the combination dial to the right until you reach the first number of the combination. Stop at this number.

3. Turn the combination dial to the left for one complete cycle until you have passed the first number one time. Continue turning the combination dial to the left until you reach the second number of the combination. Stop when you reach this number.

4. Turn the combination dial to the right until you reach the final number of the combination. Stop when you reach this number.

5. Pull on the padlock's clasp to release the lock and open the padlock.
