How to Create a Bulletin Brochure in Microsoft Publisher
When important news hits and you've got to get a bulletin out to the community, consider taking advantage of the quick-start brochure templates in Microsoft Publisher. Publisher is the desktop layout and design component of the Microsoft Office Suite Professional version and offers a way to jump start the information dissemination process. Brochures make for ideal promotional materials as they fold into standard A10 envelopes and have just enough room for those integral details and images. Create a bulletin brochure in Publisher and get the word out.

Open Microsoft Publisher. Click the "Brochures" button under the "Most Popular" section of the "Available Templates" window.

Scroll through the brochure template design options and double click on a template to open the Publisher workspace.

Click on the cursor into the text on the headline of the cover of the brochure to highlight the words. Type over the text with your new words, such as "Emergency Snow Patrol Meeting This Saturday" or "Recycling Collection to Move to Tuesday."

Type over additional headlines throughout the brochure. Click into a text box below a headline and type over the placeholder words with your bulletin information.

Change the text appearance for both the headlines and article text by highlighting the words and clicking on the "Home" tab at the top of the screen. Use the options in the "Font" section of the toolbar to change the font, color, size and position of the letters.

Press on and hold down the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard. Click once on each placeholder graphic included on the brochure. Press the "Delete" key to remove them.

Add custom photographs, pictures, maps or blueprints to the brochure by clicking on the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen and selecting the "Picture" button below the tab. Browse to a digital image and double click on the file name to add it to the brochure. Drag it into place. Repeat this to add additional images.

Highlight and type over the brochure's placeholder "contact details" text boxes with bulletin-specific information such as a website, hours of operation, emergency numbers or email addresses. To remove the contact details text boxes entirely, click once on a box and press the "Delete" key.

Click on the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Select "Save As." Type a name for the brochure such as "BulletinBrochure" and save it to your computer.
