How to Repair a Delta Bathroom Sink Faucet

Your Delta bathroom sink faucet features a ball assembly with a single spring and two rubber seats that look like rubber washers. Over time these parts of your Delta faucet will wear out, causing the faucet to leak water at a slow drip at first, which will increase in volume. If you leave your drain plugged for an hour and do not use the sink you will see how much water is flowing down the drain constantly, costing you money. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Shut off all water to the sink by turning both shutoff valves underneath the sink clockwise as far as they will turn. Turn on the water in the sink all the way to make sure no water is left in the pipes.

    • 2

Pry the small cap in the middle of the sink's water handle using a small, sharp tool such as a knife. Remove the screw that was covered by the cap, using a Phillips screw driver.

    • 3

Remove the handle from the spindle by pulling it straight off. If the handle is stuck, use a handle remover tool to back it off the spindle.

    • 4

Remove the nut on the exposed assembly, using a pair of channel locks. Pull the ball assembly out of the faucet, and then remove the two seats and the spring from the faucet using a small flat head screw driver.

    • 5

Put plumber's grease on the replacement parts for the faucet, including the replacement spring, seats and ball assembly. Reinstall the faucet's parts in the reverse order.
