How to Do Corrugated Ribbing
A paper crimper tool creates a corrugated ribbing texture to the surface of paper and is a must-have tool for a variety of paper crafts. A crimping tool has a roller with deep grooves that run its length. As you feed the paper through the tool, the grooves press a corrugated crease into the paper. This stylish paper finish can add an embellishment to a scrapbook page design or paper craft project.

1
Hold the handle of the paper crimper ribbing tool with the corrugating roller at the top and facing upward.
-
2
Insert your chosen paper into the tool. Paper crimping tools have a ledge in front of the corrugating roller. Place the paper on the ledge and under the roller. The paper can only be as wide as the roller, but it can be as long as you want. Do not cut your paper to fit your project until after you have crimped it. The length of the paper will shorten when crimped.

3
Twist the turning knob on the crimping tool. This will feed the paper under the roller, creating a corrugated rib to the surface. Twist the knob slowly and deliberately to achieve a uniform ribbing pattern and prevent the paper from jamming or curving.
-
4
Cut your corrugated ribbed paper to the size and design shape for your project.
