Big Daddy Tent Instructions
The Cascade Designs company houses various outdoor brands including MSR, Therma-Rest and Platypus. According to Trail Space, MSR released the Big Daddy tent model in its Fall 2007 line of camping equipment. The Big Daddy tent remains ideal for family camping trips as it offers a spacious 196 square foot design. Practice setting up the Big Daddy tent at home to familiarize yourself with the different components. Cascade Designs recommends clearing your campsite of sharp stones and sticks prior to setting up your MSR tent.

1
Identify an ideal camping location that features a level terrain. Place a large waterproof tarp onto the ground of your campsite. Pull your Big Daddy tent out of its protective stuff sack and place the components onto the tarp. Unroll the fabric body of your Big Daddy tent.
-
2
Locate the poles of your Big Daddy tent which feature a shock cord running through the middle. Construct each of your tent poles by connecting the identical sections. Examine the top of your MSR tent to find the tent pole sheaths. Insert one tent pole through each row of the fabric pole sheaths.
-
-
3
Place the ends of the poles into the metallic rings found around the base of the Big Daddy tent. Identify the cloth loops found adjacent to each of the metallic rings. Remove the stakes from the corresponding storage bag. Insert one stake through each of the loops.
-
4
Hold the first stake at a slightly angled position while hammering it into the dirt. Repeat the process with the remaining stakes to stabilize your Big Daddy tent. Identify the long strings hanging down from the fabric body of the MSR tent. Extend the strings, known as the guy-out lines, away from the body of the tent.
-
5
Identify the loops located at the ends of the guy-out lines. Place one stake through each of the loops. Hammer each stake into the ground of your campsite. Tighten the guy-out lines to prevent rainwater from pooling on the top of your Big Daddy tent.
