How to Fix System32 Error

You may get the System 32 error on a computer running Windows because of a file that exists within your System 32 folder that a program does not need anymore but still tries to use. Or it could be a corrupt file within the folder. While you may still have the capability to boot your system with some corrupt system files, this might not always remain the case. The consequences of any lack of action might corrupt your operating system to a point where it fails to boot. Your Disk Cleanup utility may fix the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Click your "Start" menu, select "All Programs," choose "Accessories," click "System Tools" and select "Disk Cleanup." Wait for the application to load.

    • 2

Put a check mark next to all fields that you don't need to save files from.

    • 3

Click "OK" to clean up your disk. Continue to the next step only if you have a System32 error related to a program you try to run.

    • 4

Right-click the program and click "Properties." Click the "Compatibility" tab and select an operating system to run the program with compatibility for. If your program needs Windows 98 to run and doesn't run in Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7, select "Windows 98" on the compatibility list.
