How to Customize Nike Shox

Running shoes are available in an endless variety of colors.

Customizable athletic shoes have become increasingly popular. There is a seemingly endless variety of options in style, color and materials among the major name brands. Nike is no exception. As a leader in the sportswear industry, Nike is also one of the first companies to make this technology available online to consumers. Instructions

1. Visit nike.com. After being directed to select your language preference, you will be taken to a page with several choices including Nike Store, Nike Women and Nike iD. Click on Nike iD.

2. Scroll over either "MEN'S" or "WOMEN'S" and you will be presented with a long list of options. Click on Nike Shox. Seven or eight images of Nike Shox running shoes will appear. Select one.

3. As the screen directs, "Click on the product to begin or Start Blank." When you click on various components of the shoe -- base, swoosh, lace, lining, plate, overlay -- you will be presented with a color palette depicting several options.

4. Click on your desired color, and the image of the shoe will instantly change to reflect your selection. You may click on arrows at the bottom of the screen which will present various angles of the shoe. You may also zoom in and out by clicking on the positive or negative icons at the bottom of the screen.

5. Click on "Size." A small box will appear asking for your gender, shoe size, width and quantity. There is a choice of three shoe widths and you can even enter different values for the right and left foot.

6. When you are satisfied with your customized design, click the orange bar at the right of the page that reads, "Add To Cart." You will then be asked to type in your "iD." Enter your name or other iD up to eight characters. Then, select font color.

7. Click "Add To Cart" again and you will be asked if you'd like to continue shopping or view cart. Make a selection and, if you like, repeat the process all over again.
