Turko Persian Rug Cleaning

Things You'll Need
- Vacuum
- Bucket
- Liquid dish soap
- Whisk
- White vinegar
- Scrub brush
- Cloth
- Towels
- Fans

Remove dirt, hair, dust and other debris by vacuuming the Persian rug. Flip the rug over and vacuum the under side, also.

Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of cold water. Add 1/4 cup of liquid dish soap. Mix the contents together with a whisk to create suds. Add 1 cup of white vinegar to remove mold, mildew and offensive odors from the rug.

Saturate a scrub brush in the mixture. Scrub the rug in a circular motion with the brush. Scrub in the direction of the rug's nap. Continue scrubbing until you have thoroughly cleaned the Persian rug.

Discard the contents in the bucket down the kitchen or bathroom sink. Rinse the bucket clean. Refill the bucket with cool water.

Saturate a cloth in the water. Hold the cloth over the bucket and wring out the excess liquid. Blot the carpet with the cloth to remove the mixture residue. Submerge the cloth into the water when it becomes soiled.

Pat the rug dry with several towels. Point fans in the direction of the rug to help with the drying process.
