How to Prevent Yellow Perspiration Stains
Your skin, the largest organ in your body, has over 3 million sweat glands that help cool your body temperature, so sweat is an inevitable part of life. Not only are perspiration stains unsightly, they can weaken your clothes' fabric. The stains are caused by salts found in sweat and in antiperspirants. On white and light-colored clothing, these stains have a yellow tint. Darker stains indicate a higher concentration of aluminum. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Avoid deodorants and antiperspirants with aluminum chloride. Sweat glands absorb the aluminum, and fluid rushes to the cells to create an equilibrium. This fluid is eventually excreted as perspiration, washing away the aluminum salts that then get deposited on your clothing, according to the Mrs. Clean website.

2
Let your deodorant or antiperspirant dry completely before you get dressed. This limits the amount of moisture available for your sweat glands to absorb and helps prevent yellow sweat stains.

3
Avoid synthetic fabrics. Natural fabrics such as cotton, silk and wool allow sweat to evaporate faster. Evaporation cools off your skin, making sweat less prevalent.
-
4
Wear loose clothing to help avoid yellow perspiration stains. Tight clothing makes it difficult for sweat to evaporate, and as a result, clothes absorb more moisture.
-
5
Pre-treat your clothing with a stain-releasing agent. In the case of excess sweat, stains will not cling to your clothes.
-
6
Wear garment shields with delicate fabrics such as silk. If you tend to sweat a lot, layer your clothing, using an older, already stained shirt as a protective barrier.
