Blackheads are a type of acne that are caused by oily skin and clogged hair follicles. You can extract blackheads yourself with a sterile blackhead remover, but you must first be certain that there is no sign of infection in or around the blackhead area. Squeezing your blackheads when they are inflamed can lead to more infections and bruising.       Stop taking any oral supplements or applying skin creams that contain vitamin E, aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These drugs can cause increased bruising.

      Keep your head elevated above your heart to keep the blood from pooling in the bruise.

      Place ice in a clean cloth and apply it to the bruised area to minimize swelling. Leave the ice on the bruise for 15 minutes.

      Apply warm compresses after 48 hours if the swelling has not subsided. Keep the warm compress on your bruise for 20 minutes and repeat this three times per day.
