The Mossberg 930 is an automatic shotgun with a pistol grip, fiber optic sights and a ported barrel. The gun has a wide range of uses for hunting and tactical use. It is designed to fire 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch 12-gauge shells. Although the gun is not susceptible to problems, it can become damaged or require adjustments after repeated use. It is important that the gun is cleaned and dried as a form of preventative maintenance.

Instructions

      Pump the shotgun to eject all of the shells from the gun. Put the safety in the on position and leave the chamber open. Remove the chamber plug if it is inside of the chamber.

      Unscrew the magazine cap and remove the barrel. Clean the barrel with solvent and oil when finished. Remove the gas system beginning with the seal ring and ending with the forearm retainer. Check the spring to be sure it is 28-inches long. Also check the seal ring to be sure the angled surface is facing outward. Reassemble the gas system.

      Disassemble the action by pulling the operating handle out of the bolt. Remove the bolt and the slide assembly. Check the bolt, link and link pin for damage. Replace if necessary.

      Push the trigger housing pins out of the gun and remove the trigger assembly. Do not attempt to disassemble the trigger system. Check for worn springs and carefully clean the assembly.

      Reassemble the gun and load with 2 3/4-inch or 3-inch shells. Attempt to fire the gun.

  • If basic maintenance and cleaning does not solve the problem, check the warranty and contact Mossberg directly.

  • Do not work on the gun while it is loaded. Do not fire the gun unless you are in a safe area. Never point the gun in the direction of people.
