Position the Cherokee's steering wheel in the highest position possible to make it easier to access the dashboard panels.

Remove the three screws securing the lower dashboard panel below the steering wheel with a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the trim panel off the dashboard.

Grasp the turn signal relay, and pull straight back to disconnect it. The turn signal relay is mounted just above the fuse box on the driver's side, and the relay is stamped with either "50732" or "TBB89" for easy identification.

Push the replacement relay into the mounting area until it is secure. Replace the lower dashboard panel. Insert the three screws back into the dashboard panel, and tighten them with a Phillips screwdriver.

Return the steering wheel to your preferred position. Test the turn signal relay for proper function.

Slide the driver seat all the way back on the adjustment track to open up space to work under the driver's side of the dash.

Lie on your back on the driver side floorboard and reach up underneath the dashboard. Locate the turn signal relay behind the fuse panel on the driver side. The relay is a large, cylinder-shaped object that plugs into a relay outlet on the backside of the fuse panel.

Pull the turn signal relay straight out of the relay outlet. Plug the new relay straight into the outlet. The prongs on the relay are specific, so the relay will only plug in one way.

Turn the ignition key to the “ACC” position and cycle through the turn signals to test the new relay.

Use the flashlight to look underneath the driver-side dashboard and find the fuse panel.

Locate the old flasher on the back side of the fuse panel. The flasher looks like a small tin canister.

Pull the old flasher out of its socket by hand. This may require a little effort to get yourself in the right position to grab it properly.

Plug the new flasher into the flasher socket by lining up the prongs and pushing it gently, but forcefully, into the socket. Make sure it is fully seated.

Push the turn signal stalk to one direction or the other to verify the new flasher works.
