How to Use mIRC in "Buzzen Chat"

You can access Buzzen using mIRC.

IRC, short for Internet Relay Chat, is a popular real-time chat protocol. There are numerous IRC servers, hosting innumerable channels on a wide variety of topics. IRC can be used for either business or pleasure, and is often utilized as a meeting spot for online gamers. Buzzen is a sort of enhanced IRC, offering features not found in standard IRC chat. These features are integrated via the use of a browser-based Buzzen IRC client. The Buzzen IRC server and channels can still be accessed using a standard IRC client, such as mIRC, but access to the special Buzzen features will be lost.

Instructions

1. Open mIRC.

2. Select "Tools" (at the top of the screen), and then "Options."

3. Click on "Servers" in the menu bar on the left side of the "mIRC Options" window.

4. Click "Add."

5. Type "Buzzen" in the "Description" field.

6. Type "irc.flashirc.info" into the "IRC Server" field.

7. Type "6667" into the "Ports" field.

8. Type "Buzzen" into the "Group" field.

9. Leave the "Password" field blank.

10. Click "OK."

11. Double-click on "Buzzen" in the "IRC Servers" list.

12. Click on "Connect" in the menu bar on the left side of the "mIRC Options" window.

13. Click on the "Connect" button. You will connect to the Buzzen IRC network. Note again that you will not have use of the features that the Buzzen dedicated chat client uses. You can, however, download some dedicated Buzzen-related mIRC scripts through Evolution Scriptz. (See the Resources section.)
