How to Adjust Convergence on My Pioneer TV

Convergence settings are the settings on your Pioneer television which merge the three primary display colors (red, green and blue) for the ultimate picture on your television. Over time and use, these settings can become slightly off, particularly on older rear-projection models. These settings can be adjusted manually relatively easily, just by going into your television's setup menu. If you are having picture problems on your television, the convergence settings are a good place to start.

• Television's owners manual
• Television's remote control

Instructions

1. Press the Menu or Setup button on your television's remote. Move your cursor to the convergence settings and select. All televisions have different menus and settings, even within the Pioneer television family, so if you are having difficulties accessing the convergence settings menu on your television check your owner's manual for directions for your specific Pioneer TV model.

2. Select a color to adjust. There will be three colors: red, blue and green, and all need to be checked. Press Enter or Select on your remote to select a color.

3. Adjust your color. The alignment will be out of place if there is a vertical or horizontal line visible. Align these lines with the cross-hair in the center of your television, until neither are visible.

4. Repeat for all remaining colors.
