How do I Change a DC Adapter to an AC Adapter?

You can change a DC adapter into an AC adapter using a device called a "power inverter." This takes the electricity that is flowing through a DC adapter and makes it compatible with an AC outlet in your home--like the kind found in a wall outlet or on a surge protector. This may be required if you need to plug in a device you've previously been plugging into your car's DC outlet into an AC outlet in your home.

Instructions

1. Insert one end of your device's DC power cable into the power cable input on the device itself (if your device's power cable is not permanently attached).

2. Insert the second end of your device's DC power cable into the DC input on your power inverter.

3. Insert your power inverter's AC adapter into a wall outlet in your home to convert your DC adapter to an AC adapter for your device.
