How to Attach the Arms to a Mannequin Bust

Mannequin arms often have hooks that attach to the bust.

Mannequins come in all shapes and sizes, both male and female, with and without heads and legs, looking life-like and not. While there is not a universal standard size or shape for mannequins, most have fairly simple, interlocking parts so that you don't have to worry about the assembly of the mannequin and instead can focus more on dressing your new friend for the shop window or catalog photo shoot.

• Mannequin bust
• Mannequin arms

Instructions

1. Attach the hands to the mannequin arms in a natural position before trying to attach the arms to the body.

2. Locate the hook or attachment portion of your mannequin arm and match it to the complimentary shape in the arm socket of the bust.

3. Lift the arm over the head of the bust, slip it in the socket and then bring it gently down to tighten it in place, hanging at the side of the torso.

4. Give the arm a firm shake to make sure it is completely and safely connected to the body.
