Turn on the eTrex Legend Cx while outdoors by pressing and holding the power key on the top right side of the device.

Point the antenna toward an open sky to help the eTrex Legend Cx locate the satellite signal. The antenna is located in the top of the device.

Press the power key once to light up the screen of your eTrex Legend Cx if you're outdoors at night.

Use the thumb stick located on the left side of the eTrex Legend Cx above the screen to scroll through options and make selections.

Press the buttons on the top left side of the eTrex Legend Cx to zoom in and out of the map screen.
