Windows Genuine Advantage is an antipiracy system from Microsoft that enforces Windows validation. This notification is automatically downloaded with some Microsoft Windows Updates. If Microsoft thinks your software is not genuine, you will receive the Windows Genuine Advantage notifications on your computer each time you log on. You can remove this validation in a few short steps.

      Right-click on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select "Task Manager." Click the "Processes" tab and find the process "wgatray.exe" in the list. Right-click on it and click "End Process." Click "Yes" to the warning message and the process terminates.

      Click "Start" and "Computer." Double-click "hard disk drive (C:)," then double-click the folders "Window" and "System32." Find the "wgatray.exe" file, right-click on it and select "rename." Rename the file whatever you want.

      Click "Start," the arrow to the right of "Shut down" and click "Restart" to restart your computer.
