Make your own business cards with Microsoft Word 2007.

Whether you're recruiting new business clients or want a way to stay in touch with current customers, a business card is an ideal way to get your information into contacts' hands. A business card may be your first introduction to a long-term relationship and offers as much -- or as little -- detail about yourself as you deign to include. Take advantage of Microsoft Word 2007's business card templates to get a jump start on creating your own cards. With a couple of clicks, you'll be ready to start hand-shaking and handing out cards.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Word 2007. Click the Office button in the top-left corner of the screen. Select "New."

    • 2

Double click the "Business Cards" button. Double click the "Print Business Cards" file folder. Scroll through the card templates and double click a design. Within a few moments, a sheet of cards will open in a new Word window.

    • 3

Click the cursor into the first card on the page. Highlight the lines of placeholder text on the card. Type over them directly with a name, job title, business name, address, phone number, email address, website and any other information such as awards, honorariums and hours of operation.

    • 4

Change the text's appearance by highlighting the lines and clicking the "Home" tab at the top of the screen. Use options such as the font, text color and text size to make changes.

    • 5

Click the "Insert" tab at the top of the screen. Select "Picture." Browse to a digital company logo and double click the file name. The logo is added to the business card. Press and hold down the "Shift" key on the keyboard, click a corner of the logo and shrink it down to fit a corner of the card. Drag it into place.

    • 6

Highlight all of the new text and the logo on the card. Press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys on the keyboard to copy.

    • 7

Highlight the placeholder text and any graphics on the next card on the template. Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste the business card information directly over them. Repeat to paste over all of the cards on the Word template.

    • 8

Click the Office button at the top of the screen. Select "Save As." Type a name for the sheet of business cards and save the file to the computer.
