How to Mix 2% Gas With Oil for a Moped
The most common moped out on the market contains a type of engine normally called a two-stroke cycle engine. This number refers to the number of times the piston moves in the engine. Unfortunately, although these engines are more efficient when compared to their four-stroke engine counterparts, the two-stroke engine does have its one drawback; you need to manually mix in the oil when you pour the gas into the moped. Although this often just requires some math done in your head, it does help to have a guide to follow when first filling up your moped's tank.

1
Check your moped's owner's manual for the correct gas to oil ratio. Although moped manufacturers may differ, the most common ratio is 50:1.
-
2
Pour in the gas, without touching the oil first. Know exactly how much gas you are putting into your moped; this number is important later on.

Pour the specific amount of oil that goes along with your moped's gas to oil ratio. Here is a chart for you to follow:
50:1 Ratio
1 Gallon of gas = 2.56 Ounces of oil
2 Gallons of gas = 5.12 Ounces of oil
3 Gallons of gas = 7.68 Ounces of oil
4 Gallons of gas = 10.24 Ounces of oil
5 Gallons of gas = 12.8 Ounces of oil

Start your moped up, and check to see it is running steadily. If it seems to be acting strange, always add just a bit more oil. It is much better to run your gasoline mixture rich than lean.
