How to Install Shop-Vac Filters
Shop-Vac Corp. manufactures wet and dry shop vacuums. A Shop-Vac filter blocks the dirt and debris that is being sucked into the retaining bucket from being blown back out across a room. The filter also keeps the dirt inside when reversing the airflow by putting the hose on the exhaust port. The filters are washable with low-pressure tap water, allowing you to use and reuse the filter a number of times. Removing, cleaning and installing a Shop-Vac filter only takes a few minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove the filter retainer. The retainer screws off in a counterclockwise direction. Pull the filter off by grasping the sides. Twist and pull until the filter comes free. The filter is not screwed on but may fastened tightly due to the vacuum pressure created during operation of the Shop-Vac.

Clean the filter appropriately. Clean a dry filter by lightly tapping it inside of a trash can. Clean a wet filter by rinsing it with a water hose from the inside of the filter. You can rinse off a dry filter in the same manner, but allow it to dry for 24 hours before reinstalling.
