How to Refill an Epson Stylus C84 Ink Cartridge
The Epson Stylus C84 is a color inkjet printer that uses individual cartridges for black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink. As the ink level runs low on each of the cartridges, the cartridge can be refilled with ink as an alternative to replacing the cartridge outright. The process for refilling each cartridge is identical except for the color and amount of ink used. It is important to follow the right steps when refilling the cartridges so they will not become damaged.
Things You'll Need
- Paper towels
- 1/16 inch thumb drill
- Syringes
- Black, cyan, yellow and magenta refill ink
Instructions
-
-
1
Set the cartridge on a flat area over some paper towels to absorb any ink spills.
-
2
Drill a hole directly above the letter "H" in the word "Push" on the top label of the cartridge. Drill a second hole above the first at the edge of the label.
-
-
3
Fill a syringe with the appropriate amount and color of refill ink. The black cartridge uses 25 milliliters and each color cartridge holds 10 milliliters of ink.
-
4
Insert the needle of the syringe into the first hole drilled. Slowly inject the ink into the ink chamber. As the ink is injected, air escapes through the second hole drilled.
-
5
Repeat the steps for each additional cartridge to be refilled. Replace the cartridges into the Epson C84.

Tips & Warnings
Wait 24 hours after refilling the cartridges before printing to allow the ink time to absorb into the internal sponges.
