Sansa Fuze Troubleshooting
Like other MP3 players, the Sansa Fuze both stores and plays back audio and video files. The Fuze accepts media in several file types, including MP3, WAV and MP4. If you have trouble getting your Sansa Fuze to connect to your computer or accept files, or if your Sansa Fuze stops operating, it can be due to a number of issues, each of which must be fixed in its own way.

1
Download and install Windows Media Player 10 or a newer version of Windows Media Player if the computer does not recognize the player. Windows Media Player must be installed for the player to be detected or for the computer to charge the device.
-
2
Install the Sansa Media Converter software that came with your Sansa Fuze to your computer if you haven't done so already. If you do not have the installation disc provided with the Fuze, download the software from the SanDisk website. The Sansa Media Converter software allows you to upload media to your Sansa Fuze.

Make sure any file that won't play on your Sansa Fuze player is in one of the player's supported formats. According to the user manual for the Sansa Fuze, the Fuze accepts MP3, WAV, WMA, FLAC, Ogg-Vorbis and audiobook formats for audio files, and only MP4 video files. To check the file format, navigate to the file on the Fuze and check the extension.

4
Reset the Sansa Fuze if the Fuze fails to power on or off, or if the buttons on the Fuze fail to respond when you touch them. To reset the Sansa Fuze, push the power button on the side of the unit upward and hold it in the up position for at least 15 seconds. Then, return the button to its original position and press the button upward again, releasing it immediately, to power the device on.
