Cut a Circle with a Drill Press

Cutting circles on the drill press is easily accomplished with a circle cutter. The circle cutter is adjustable and versatile and can cut accurate circles. Manufactured for use in a drill press, the cutter must not rotate faster than 250 RPMs to prevent injuries or damage to the tool and workpiece. Circle cutters can be used to cut plywood and solid woods, producing quality circles for toy wheels, plaques, clock parts and many other projects.

Insert the circle cutter into the drill press chuck and tighten completely.

    • 5

Slowly apply pressure to the handle, advancing the cutter onto the workpiece.

    • 6

Slowly move the cutter up and down by raising and lowering the drill press handle. This process will prevent the cutter from grabbing and damaging the workpiece.

    • 7
