How to Announce a Bridal Registry
Creating bridal registries lets your wedding guests know both what you need and the things you would like to have in your future home. Having a few registries gives your wedding guests options of places to shop and allows them to find something in their price range. Creating a registry is easy, but announcing it to the world takes some grace and tact, especially since it's not considered proper etiquette to send out registry notifications with your wedding invitations.

Send notifications of your bridal registries in your bridal shower invitations. Include a website where guests of the bridal shower can see your registry online. This will help them decide what gifts to buy you for your shower and/or wedding.

Create a website for your wedding. You can create free websites through services such as WeddingWire or MyWedding (see Resources). Put information about your registries on your website. Place links to this website in your formal wedding invitations, on save-the-date notifications or in other announcements. When a wedding guest goes to this website, he'll find all the information he needs about your wedding, including where to go to buy you gifts.

Announce your registry through social media. This is an easy, cost- and time-effective way to announce your registry, especially if you're going green with your wedding planning. Update your status with a link either to your registry at a certain store or to the website you've created for your wedding. It may seem forward, but it will be beneficial to those wedding guests who want to get their shopping done; and all your guests will appreciate a link to your page so they don't have to search the Internet to find it themselves.
