Broken Particleboard
-
1
Clean away any loose debris on the edges of the particleboard. Lay the largest piece, damaged side up, on a flat surface like a work bench. Fit the second piece of particleboard in place.
-
2
Lay the pieces of thin plastic on either side of the particleboard pieces. Clamp them together. The plastic will keep the clamp from adhering to the glue.

3
Hold your particleboard at an angle so that you can see the tear from the side. Soak this seam with CA glue. This glue is extremely thin and will soak the particleboard and adhere the broken pieces together. The resulting fix actually will be stronger than the original board. It will dry quickly.

Drill a hole in one piece of particleboard to accommodate a barbed hammer-in nut, generally about 3/10 of an inch. Make the holes wherever you want the board to be joined. When combined with particleboard filler, the hammer-in nuts can be used in the end of the particle board to make a 90-degree angle.
-
5
Fill the holes you drilled with particleboard filler. Insert the nuts. Dab away any remaining filler with a cloth.
-
6
Repeat Step 1 and 2 for the second board. Allow the filler in both pieces to dry.
-
7
Attach the boards by threading the bolts in between the two hammer-in nuts. Tighten until they're flush.
