Instructions

    • 1

Vacuum both sides of the wool rug. If your rug has long fibers, like those on a Greek flokati rug, use the brush attachment to vacuum the front side, then vacuum the backside as usual.

    • 2

Take the rug outside to a patio and wet it thoroughly with water until it is soaking.

    • 3

Pour two capfuls of wool soap into a bucket and fill the bucket with water. Agitate the bucket with a clean, soft sponge.

    • 4

Wipe the rug down with the soapy sponge. Do not scrub hard. Wipe the rug in the direction of the pile.

    • 5

Rinse the soap out of the rug until the water runs clear.

    • 6

Roll the rug up in dry, clean towels to soak up the excess water. Lay the rug out flat to dry. When the front feels dry, flip it over to dry the back.

    • 7

Brush the fibers gently with a laundry brush to remove any stiffness from the washing process.
