Satellite Dish

Your satellite dish is made up of three basic pieces. The dish itself, the dish mount and the Low Noise Blocker (LNB). The LNB is the "antenna" part of your dish that receives the signal that your dish is gathering and sends it to your receiver. If your LNB doesn't work or needs to be upgraded, you don't have to switch out the entire dish, all you need to do is replace the LNB.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old LNB by unscrewing it from the LNB Arm. That is the long arm that extends from the dish with the LNB on the end. There are two screws at the end of the arm where the LNB connects. Unscrew those being careful not to let the LNB fall.

    • 2

Unscrew the coaxial cable that is running through the LNB arm and connects to the LNB. Put the old LNB aside.

    • 3

Connect the coaxial cable coming out of the LNB arm to the new LNB. There will be coaxial connection like on the back of your television. Twist on the cable in to the jack on your new LNB making sure it is nice and tight.

    • 4

Secure the new LNB to the LNB arm. You can do that by replacing the two screws you took out in step 1 and screwing them down nice and tight.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you purchase a LNB that will work with your existing dish.
