How to Add Links to Snow Tire Chains
When winter rolls around, it is important to make sure that your vehicle is prepared to handle the dangers of snow covered roads. While many vehicles today have tires with increased traction, it can be a good idea to keep a set of snow chains in your trunk in case of emergencies. Sometimes it may be necessary to replace broken links or to add or remove new ones in order to make sure the chains properly fit your tires.

Install the chains on your tires and tighten them only after driving forward 15 feet to make sure they fit properly. If the chains do not fit over the tires without removing air, add more links. Do not deflate tires to install chains.
