How to Wrap a Sari or a Sarong

How to Wrap a Sari or a Sarong thumbnail
Sarongs can be fashionable beachwear instead of just a cover-up.

A sarong or sari tied around the waist can be a lovely look at the beach. They're functional as cover-ups for revealing bikinis or for covering sunburned skin, but because of their lovely prints, they can also be a flattering, colorful look to flaunt pool side, at the beach or even the lake.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap the sarong around your backside at your waist.

    • 2

Hold the edges of the sarong to your sides.

    • 3

Pull the sides together in front of you, pulling more to whichever side you would like to have the knot. If you want the knot in the middle, pull the sides to the middle.

    • 4

Put your attention to the right side and fold it away from your body while folding to the outside. The inside of the sarong will be facing outward. This step eliminates bulkiness.

    • 5

Hold the section that you just folded and create a "dog ear" by bunching it together in your hand.

    • 6

Create "dog ears" on both sides. This is so tying will be easier.

    • 7

Tie them together by crisscrossing into a secure knot at your waist.

    • 8

      Adjust height if needed.
